on

For the third year in a row we’ll be tracking the Mets’ 2013 draft selections in the First Year Player Draft. Today is rounds 3-10 after last night when the Mets selected first baseman Dominic Smith (#11 overall) in the first round, and pitcher Andrew Church (#48 overall) in the second round.

Round 3

76) Ivan Wilson, CF, Ruston HS (LA), 6-3, 220 lbs.

Wilson

  • 2013 Stats: Was a Third-Team All-American this season, who is a good athlete and also played football at Ruston. He’s a big guy, who currently plays centerfield but will likely move to a corner position and will bring a lot of power to the plate. He has a very level swing, which means line drives and hard hit balls. Defensively has a solid arm that could develop more as he matures.
