Mets Launch Online Banner Day Contest

on

Earlier today through an official press release, the Mets announced an exciting online contest. The contest is designed as a supplement to Banner Day.  Until April 29th, fans can now enter digital banner designs online via the Mets’ website. Specific details regarding rules and design specifications can be found on the website.

After the deadline, the Mets will select what they feel the top four designs are. After that, fans will have to opportunity to vote online to select the winner. The winner of the finalist vote will win tickets to Banner Day at Citi Field on Saturday May 11th. In addition, the winner of the online vote will automatically one of the four finalists on the actual Banner Day.

This is a really cool idea that the Mets came up with, as it allows fans with some graphic skills to win some free tickets. I have no doubt that Mets fans will come up with some awesome designs. I honestly can not wait to see the four that make the online voting stage. This also gives Mets fans who can not attend Banner Day a chance to partake by designing their own online version of a banner.

Banner Day was a tradition for over 50 years, and it was great when they brought it back last season. It is something that fans of all ages can partake in, and seeing all of the creative bed sheet designs on TV or in person is great. Last year some of the designs were very detailed and took a lot of work, and I expect the same and maybe even better this season. Remember to enter your design by April 29th! I will be sure to enter one, and I hope you do the same.
