Mets Statistical Roundup- April 19, 2016

on

Some of the benefits of being a new father is that I am up at 2:30 in the morning with not much to do other than feed the baby, so pouring through stats sort of uninterrupted is a lot easier. Nice win by the Mets last night, and supposedly Thor gave Plawecki a free tattoo.

The Stats:

  • Wright hit two homers last night, bringing his total to 237 as a Met. He still has a ways to go to pass Straw (252) for the number one spot on the all-time list, but the next closest active Met is Duda who now has 102.
  • Duda retains sole possession of the 12th spot on the all-time HR list ahead of George Foster and now just two behind Beltran. His two RBI’s (325) on the night keep him at 23rd all-time, behind John Milner (338).
  • Cespedes continued to heat up adding another triple to his Met totals. Yo now has 5 as a Met, moving him out of a 26 way tie for 90th all time, and into a 17 way tie for 73. He is in good company with John Olerund, Cliff Floyd, Roberto Alomar, and Frank Thomas among others. His next triple will tie him with current teammate Curtis Granderson.
  • Granderson stays at 44th all-time in walks (177), right behind Lenny Dykstra (181)
  • Walker is moving up quickly in the all-time leaders. He is now in a tie with 20 other Mets who have 4 home runs, and moved into a tie for 338th with 10 RBI.
  • Thor had another excellent outing, leapfrogging Jeff Innis (192) and Terry Leach (194) for sole possession of 74th on the list. Bob Apodaca and Ron Taylor would be next to pass each having 197. His 11 wins ties him with six others for 94th on the list.

Tonight’s matchup:

  • Logan Verrett, is in a five pitcher tie for 217th with 44 K’s which includes teammate Steven Matz.
Cespedes with one RBI will tie David Segui and Marlon Byrd. Two RBI’s puts him into a tie with Alex Ochoa and Chico Walker
  • Eric Campbell needs two hits to tie original met Choo-Choo Colmen
  • Familia is in sole possession of 12th all time for saves as a Met. He’ll need four to pass Randy Myers.

Milestone Countdowns for 2016:

  • Wright is on track to break the 1000 mark for Runs (935) and RBI (956) this year.
  • Familia is on pace to put himself into the top 10 for saves as a Met all time, to do that he’ll need to pass Braden Looper who has 57.
