Attention Mets: The Time to Act is Now

on

I look forward to doing post on this informative site on The New York Mets. My first post is on the Baseball Winter Meetings and what should be the expectations for what the New York Mets do during these meetings.

The Mets will look in three areas to improve during the Winter Meetings in my view: 1. Utility Player/Versatile Player. 2. Bullpen Help. 3. Outfield Help.

The thought is the New York Mets need to reload in terms of getting a versatile player who can play many positions, preferably in the infield. That is why Ben Zobrist is drawing so much interest from the Mets. It will be interesting to see if he signs with the New York Mets. The Mets need to add on since more than likely they will lose Daniel Murphy due to Free Agency.

Also The Mets need bullpen help for late in games to setup for Jeurys Familia. It will be interesting to see who the Mets get to fill out their bullpen, either in free agency or via trade. The bullpen is a critical area for the Mets to add on in my view.

The last area the Mets should look at is adding outfield flexibility, mainly to find a platoon partner for Juan Lagares in center field. Names that have been mentioned are Denard Span, Geraldo Parra and Dexter Fowler. It will be interesting to see if the Mets get involved in the Yoenis Cespades sweepstakes.

My next post will be on how I think the Mets did in the WInter Meetings to better their overall team. Going forward it is important for the Mets to have a win now mentality since their starting pitching is so good and young and under control for the near future, this is the Mets chance to really take New York from the Yankees.
