Bartolo Colon Has Been Worth Every Penny

Bartolo Colon ranks third all-time in wins among Dominican-born pitchers with 218 wins, trailing only Juan Marichal (243) and Pedro Martinez (219).

He is tied for seventh in the NL this year with 14 wins and since the 2014 All-Star break, he has 21 victories, tied for the 10th-most in the majors over that span. Colon has 29 wins over the last two years. The last Mets pitcher to win 30 or more games over a two-year span was Al Leiter (1998-1999 – 30 wins).

Colon is 4-0 with a 2.33 ERA in four starts vs. Philadelphia this year. He had a career-high 31 scoreless innings streak from Aug. 26 to Sept. 10.
