Listen: Mets Keep Rolling, Take Game One in Atlanta

on

Not even Mother Nature could stop the Mets and big Bartolo Colon Thursday night and Friday morning, as they took game one from the Atlanta Braves by the score of 7-2.

Colon was the story, taking a shutout into the seventh, but after he allowed two runs on three straight hits, Dario Alvarez bailed him out by getting four outs to get through the eighth. Although he allowed two runners, Addison Reed closed the door in the ninth.

Offensively, Kevin Plawecki got the ball rolling with a 2-run double. Colon followed with an RBI single to make it 3-0. Juan Uribe drove in three runs and Plawecki knocked in another insurance run to put the icing on the cake. Tomorrow, Steven Matz looks to get on track against this woeful Braves team. Talk about a dumpster fire.
