#MetsTwitterDraft Rumor Roundup

on

As the #MetsTwitterDraft Insider, I had a chance to briefly speak with the general managers of both #TeamStache and #TeamPresser. Both @dailystache and @metsjetsnets88 have kept quiet about their draft boards until now, but I have gathered as much information as I could. This is what information regarding tonights draft I was able to scoop up:

-A source close to the #TeamStache front office has stated that an emphasis on bloggers early in the draft could be key to rounding out the team.

-Reports from within the organization say that #TeamStache officials have stated in organizational meetings that the feelings of the Daily Stache Staff could have a key role in the decision of who to pick.

-A source with knowledge of the situation has stated that #TeamStache has already identified their top three candidates for #MetsTwitter members with under 300 followers.

-Rumors have began to intensify that the #TeamStache War Room is split between making Kevin Burkhardt or Matthew Cerrone their first overall selection.

These are all very interesting developments, especially this late in the game. I had a feeling that bloggers would be off the board early, and that the Daily Stache Staff could play a role.

The under 300 followers information is the wild card of this draft, as these GMs could go in a multitude of directions with that category. Even though it is the day of the draft, this one is still too close to call.

If the rumors are regarding Cerrone and Burkhardt are true, that means they are the late risers of this draft. I see them both as valuable picks, but they will both be overslot signings. For all we know these names could be a smokescreen, but these types of rumors do not just pop out of nowhere.

When I spoke to #TeamPresser GM @metsjetsnets88, his WAR room was a bit more tightly sealed, although he did leave me with the following response:

This draft is gonna be fun, and I’m excited to be a part of it.

I hope #MetsTwitter is enjoying it as much as we at The Stache are.

Of course, this is a #MetsTwitter All-Star team, and roster spots are limited.

The tweeps on these rosters are the elite of the elite (and also, whoever Matt picks).

Don’t fret if you’re not taken, because there are far more awesome tweeps than roster spots.

It’s gonna be a numbers game, and it’s not gonna be easy to make those cuts.

For #TeamPresser, I’m looking for talent that isn’t afraid to be real and be thoughtful,

But anybody who makes me laugh has a hell of a shot as well.

I read more tweets than you may think, so keep your eyes peeled…

It looks to me like #TeamPresser has a common theme in what they are looking for, and they will stick to it. I would not be surprised if this message has some sort of hidden meaning either.

Overall this is going to be an interesting draft night. I’m shocked even this much info has been leaked. Be sure to be signed on to Twitter tonight at 7pm to watch the draft go down.
