As you may or may not know, I was one of the most outspoken people about bringing in the fences at Citi Field.
Also, as you may or may not know, Stache Writer and friend Taryn “The Coop” Cooper was one of the most outspoken people about NOT moving the fences in.
So with Citi Field having the fences moved in, I have decided to make a count of home runs that would have been out in prior years and which would not have been out in prior years.
The rules are actually pretty simple.
Any time that the visiting team hits a home run over a new fence then Coop gets a point.
Any time that a Met hits a home run over a new fence, then I will get the point.
So far, Lucas Duda hit a home run over the new fence in Center Field and Captain Kirk hit one over the new fence in the Mo’s Zone.
Neither though cleared the old Citi Field fences and so, i get the point.
No visiting player has hit one over a new fence, but not over the old fence and so Coop is still pitching the shutout so far haha.
We will be keeping track of this all season long, and the loser of this little war will buy the other a beer or whatever.
Hope you enjoy this little game. Lets Go Mets!
