Post Game: Mets 5 Giants 4

on

The Mets defeated the Giants by a score of 5-4 this afternoon. Mike Pelfrey went 8 strong innings only giving up a single run.

Mike seemed to be in line for a win, but a misplayed pop up by Rueben Tejada and Kirk led to the Giants scoring three runs in the ninth inning, all charged to Frank Francisco.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Mets won the gamerrors throwing error, as Tejada scored the winning run.

Overall this was an uneventful game until the ninth, and then it got wacky quick. Francisco was bad for the second game in a row. It was nice to see the Mets strike back in the ninth to take this game.

Game Ball: Goes to Mike Pelfrey for his stellar pitching performance.

The Mets play again tomorrow with Dillon Gee on the mound at 1:10pm. The can be seen on WPIX11 and heard on WFAN.
