Post”poned” Game: Mets Washed Out vs. Giants

on

What was supposed to be a pitching matchup featuring Tim Lincecum of the Giants and Dillon Gee of the Mets won’t happen anytime today as the Mets-Giants game slated for 1:10 p.m. has been postponed for heavy rain in Queens this afternoon.

The game will be made up as a single admission doubleheader tomorrow afternoon that will start at 1:10 p.m. as opposed to the originally scheduled 4:10 start time.

Game one of tomorrow’s twinbill features Lincecum against Miguel Batista, followed by Gee and Madison Bumgarner in the night cap. For those of you bobblehead collectors, the Tom Seaver bobblehead giveaway is now on Saturday, May 5.

In the mean time, the Mets are taking advantage of this opportunity and giving Johan Santana an extra day of rest, Monday’s scheduled starter will now start the opener against Miami on Tuesday against Marlins’ ace Josh Johnson. The rest of the rotation pans out as R.A. Dickey against Mark Buehrle, followed by Jon Niese against Ricky Nolasco. The series in Denver against the Rockies starts off with Mike Pelfrey back on the hill after yesterday’s eight inning performance.
