Tonight’s Pre-Game is being presented by The Daily Stache’s new sponsor…Men’s Warehouse. Well, not really. But our fearless leader sure thinks it should be.

@ttlsportsblog: The Daily Stache Presented by Men’s Warehouse RT#InsaneStachePredictions The Mets will win tonight. I guarantee it.— Daily Stache (@dailystache) August 16, 2012
I don’t think i’ll go out on the proverbial limb like Matt, but we can’t loose them all….right?
After another lackluster performance full of 0-1 counts and friendship bracelets being cut off, the Mets limp into the final game of this three game series trying to avoid the sweep. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, has been going well for the Mets other than R.A. Dickey (who wasn’t good at all last night). Personally, I feel as if the incredible first start of Matt Harvey’s career was eons ago. Yet it was only a few weeks ago. The days of the Mets working starting pitchers and getting deep into counts is over as well. Against the pitcher who has the highest first pitch batting average against, the Mets just stood there like statutes, 0-1 and 0-2 all night. What Kind of approach is that? It seems as if this team is starting to go though the motions.
Tonight at 7:10, Harvey (1-3 3.63 ERA) will try to get his mojo back against Homer (not sure if that’s a good name to have pitching in this ballpark) Bailey (10-7 4.08 ERA). The game can be seen on SNY and heard on WFAN 660 AM.

Who’s HOT for the Mets?…Mike Baxter returned to the Mets lineup a few games ago after crashing into the wall to preserve Johan Santana’s no-hitter. In those 5 games, “Mike from Whitestone” has gone 7 for 16 with 3 runs scored
Who’s HOT for the Reds?…Todd Frazier has filled in pretty well for Joey Votto at first base. In his last 6 games, Frazier is 13 for 23 with 2 HR and 7 RBI’s. Jay Bruce is pretty hot also, with a homer in 3 straight games.
Pitching Matchup
Matt Harvey (1-3 3.63 ERA) will get the ball tonight and lets hope he keeps it down. After his 5 walk performance against the Braves, he must be more crisp with his pitches and stop messing around with all these off speed pitches. THROW THE HEAT. Knees, letters, knees, letters. Note to Dan Warthen…shut up and let the kid pitch. That’s all I have to say about that.
Homer Bailey (10-7 4.08 ERA) has not been very good lately. In his last three starts, he has allowed 14 runs and 27 hits in 14 innings. Ugh, that’s not good. But hey, if you’re looking to get back on track, how about against a team that doesn’t want to swing the bats? On June 16th at Citi Field, Homer pitched eight innings of one run ball and beat the Mets 4-1.
