  • JACKIE ROBINSON DAY: Every major league manager, coach and player will #42 today to commemorate the 69th Anniversary of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson breaking baseball’s color barrier in 1947…MLB retired Robinson’s number throughout the Majors in 1997, dedicating April 15th as Jackie Robinson Day each year since 2004, and requesting that every player and all on-field personnel wear his Number 42 during games scheduled on Jackie Robinson Day since 2009…One ‘#42’ jersey will be signed by each member of every team and auctioned-off on MLB.com (MLB. com/42jersey), with the proceeds benefiting the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
  • GRANDERSON INTERVIEW: As part of MLB Network’s new TV show “Play Ball,” Harold Reynolds interviewed Curtis Granderson about Jackie Robinson’s career and legendary impact…The interview took place in the Jackie Robinson Rotunda at Citi Field…“Play Ball” will air this Saturday at 10 a.m.
  • NOTES: The Mets snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win on Wednesday…New York went 2-4 on its opening homestand…The Mets are 1-1 on the road this year, splitting a series at Kansas City…New York was 41-40 on the road in 2015.
  • INTERLEAGUE PLAY: The Mets are 1-1 vs. the American League this year… New York went 9-11 in Interleague action last season…Since 1997, when Interleague play began, the Mets are 167-157 (.515)…The .515 winning percentage in Interleague play is the second-best all-time among NL clubs behind St. Louis (154-141, .522).
  • BARTOLO COLON ONE WIN FROM PEDRO: Bartolo Colon has 218 career wins, the third-most among Dominican- born pitchers and one victory behind Pedro Martinez…Juan Marichal ranks first with 243 wins.
  • COLON VS. CLEVELAND: Bartolo Colon was signed by the Indians as a non-drafted free agent on June 26, 1993…He made his major league debut for Cleveland on April 4, 1997 at Anaheim…Colon won 75 games for the Indians during his six-year (1997-2002) career…He was an All-Star in 1998 and was finished fourth in the AL Cy Young Award voting in 1999, going 18-5 for the Indians…The righthander is 6-4 with a 3.84 ERA (31 earned runs/72.2 innings) in 11 starts vs. Cleveland.
  • SINCE 2014 ASG: Since the 2014 All-Star Game, Colon has racked up 21 victories, tied for the 14th-most in the majors over that span.
  • AGELESS: Colon ranks first among active pitchers in wins (218) and shutouts (13)….He is second in complete games (36) and strikeouts (2,245).
  • ONE-RUN GAMES: New York is 1-3 in one-run games this year (0-1 on the road)….The Mets were 25-24 in one-run decisions last year.
  • OFFENSE: The Mets are hitting .194 after eight games, ranking last in the majors…New York has scored 20 runs, ranking 29th in the majors…Last year, the Mets hit .244, ranking 28th and scored 683 runs, ranking 17th…The Mets are 1-0 when they score four or more runs this year and 2-5 when they plate three runs or less…The Mets were 70-12 (.854) when scoring four or more runs last year.
  • DAVID WRIGHT: Is hitting .333 (7-21) with three doubles, five walks and three runs scored in his last six games after going 0-4 on Opening Day…He has reached base safely in 17 straight games dating to September 20, 2015…He has a .408 on-base percentage during that span.
  • YOENIS CESPEDES: Has hit in eight straight games vs. the Indians dating to April 25, 2015…Cespedes has hit .306 (22- 72) in 17 career games at Progressive Field.
  • JEURYS FAMILIA: Hasn’t allowed a run in 5.2 innings this year…Converted a five-out on April 13 vs. Miami…Since the start of the 2015 season, Familia has four saves of five or more outs, the most in the majors…Familia also has nine saves of four or more outs since 2014, tied for the second-most in the majors with Trevor Rosenthal…Cleveland’s Cody Allen is first with 11 such saves during that span…Familia earned his 50th career save on April 5 at Kansas City…He finished third in the majors with 43 saves in 2015…Tied the club’s single- season save record…Armando Benitez also had 43 saves in 2001…Familia was one of 12 pitchers in major league history to record 40 or more saves by age 25 or younger.
  • JERRY BLEVINS: Picked up the win on Wednesday stranding the bases loaded in the seventh inning…Blevins has stranded seven of eight inherited runners this year…He is tied for the major league lead with seven stranded runners…Opponents are 2-26 (.077) vs. Blevins dating to 2015.
  • IN THE MINORS: Dominic Smith went 2-5 with a double and collected his first two RBI in Double-A last night for Binghamton (AA) at Erie in a 12-2 win.
