The Key to Success: Score Four Runs

on

It’s no surprise that the Mets have a much better record this season when they score at least four runs.

The Mets are 42-7 this year when they score four or more runs. The .857 winning percentage is the second-best in the majors. New York is 17-45 when they score three runs or less.

Since July 24, the Mets have scored the third-most runs (80) in the National League. Only Colorado (88 runs) and Philadelphia (83 runs) have scored more. The Mets are scoring 5.3 runs per game since July 24. Prior to that date, New York was scoring 3.4 runs per game. The Mets are 10-5 since July 24.

The Mets are 38-18 at Citi Field, which is tied for the best start in team history after 56 home games with the 2000, 1986 and 1985 clubs. The Mets are 17-8 in their last 25 home games. The Mets have not had a losing record on any of their eight homestands this year. New York is 11-5-2 in home series this season.
