Zac Brown Band is an American country music band formed in 2002 and is based in Atlanta, GA. Since 2009, they have earned 55 nominations and eight awards from the Grammys, Academy of Country Music, American Music Awards, Country Music Association and Country Music Television. Their #1 single “Chicken Fried” received four nominations for the 2009 CMA Awards: New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. That same year, the group received three Grammy nominations for Best Country Album, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group and Best New Artist.
Zac Brown Band will be returning to Citi Field for the second time as they were the opening act for the Dave Matthews Band in July of 2010. The band will be the second high-profile musical act to perform stand-alone concerts at Citi Field in the summer of 2015 as the Foo Fighters are scheduled for shows on Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16.
The Mets are continuing their tradition of hosting some of the biggest acts in music that began with the Beatles’ legendary musical christening of Shea Stadium in 1965. Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, the Police, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Paul McCartney and the Dave Matthews Band will be joined by the Foo Fighters and Zac Brown Band as acts keeping the musical spirit going at the Mets’ home. The show will be held rain or shine and is promoted by Live Nation.
