In case you missed it, ESPN Radio Host and Yankees play-by-play announcer on YES Michael Kay was quite perturbed when ESPN New York’s Adam Rubin called him out on Twitter for a comment he made in reference to the Mets.
Rubin thew the first punch in the celebrity death match.
Michael Kay on ESPN New York 98.7 said on air that he’d call Yankees for $1 over #Mets for $1 million. “First of all, Mets fans despise me.”

Then Kay responded, multiple times…
I can’t thank @AdamRubinESPN enough 4 his foolish tweet about something jokingly said on TMKS. No context whatsoever. Weak & irresponsible. — Michael Kay (@RealMichaelKay) February 13, 2015
His tabloid-y tweet has brought the trolls out for no reason. Out of their basement carrying torches with no idea what was really said.

Thanks again @AdamRubinESPN. Can’t thank you enough.

Is it me, or does Kay come across as that kid that tattled to the teacher because you wouldn’t share? Instead of ensuing in a back-and-forth, Rubin responded later on, in a joking manner. Kay had no retort to this one.
I think @RealMichaelKay sneaked into my last CrossFit class before leaving for spring training and toughened workout: pic.twitter.com/Fh5cirw18v

I can’t share a story like this without checking in on #MetsTwitter, so I searched Mets Kay Rubin on Twitter. Here is my favorite response.
Rubin/Kay rivalry should be a thing. Might turn Adam into a Mets fan. #EnemyOfMyEnemyIsMyFriend
