I am thrilled to announce the details behind a new initiative at the Daily Stache, where we will look to find the biggest Mets fan out there and give him or her the attention they deserve.
Why are we doing this? Why not? The Mets have the most passionate fan base in baseball, and with optimism on the fans’ minds, why not show our orange and blue pride as we move forward towards the 2015 MLB Regular season.
Here’s how it works. You submit your entries to [email protected], and I will pick my favorites to feature on the site. Hopefully, we can have a March Madness-like voting bracket, where readers vote which people move to the next round. This isn’t going to be like MLB’s constant #FaceofMLB campaign, we want to find the #ultimatemetsfan.
Here are the different ways in which you can apply.
- Send a writeup in 300-400 words in why you’re the biggest Mets fan. Include photos and videos for consideration.
- Submit a video (Would prefer if it’s on YouTube first) in two minutes or less stating why you’re the biggest Mets fan.
- Nominate a friend: Submit a write-up or video nominating someone else for the prestigious honor.
- Have another way to be creative? We like thinking outside the box. Do that and email it in as well.
The nomination process begins now and will close on Feb. 28 when the clock strikes 12 a.m. on the beginning of March. Keep following us on Facebook and Twitter for consistent updates on the process. If less than eight entries are submitted, the contest will not move forward.
As for prizes, this is for pride. There can only be one #UltimateMetsFan.
Are you really the biggest fan out there? Then prove it, and Let’s Go Mets!
