Philly is the Wright Place for David to Return

David Wright was recalled from his major league rehabilitation assignment and activated from the 60- Day Disabled List today.

LHP Dario Alvarez was optioned to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Wright went 9-28 (.321) with four runs scored, five walks and one RBI in eight major league rehabilitation games for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League. He was hitting .333 (11-33) with one home run and four RBI in eight games with the Mets this season. Wright last appeared on April 14, going 2-5 vs. Philadelphia. He has missed 115 games.

Wright has hit 19 home runs and driven in 66 runs in 92 career games at Citizens Bank Park, both career highs for the Mets third baseman in a visiting ballpark. He also has 19 home runs at Atlanta’s Turner Field. Wright’s 19 home runs are the most by a visiting player in Citizens Bank Park history.

The Mets are 8-1 vs. the Phillies this year. New York has won five straight games vs. Philadelphia. The Mets have won 20 of their last 25 games vs. the Phillies and seven straight series vs. Philadelphia. The Mets are 10-3 at Philadelphia over the last two years.
