Despite the Mets being down 0-2 to the Royals in the best-of-seven World Series, there’s still reasons for hope.
In 1969, the Mets trailed 0-1 before turning on the jets, and in 1986, the Mets trailed 0-2. Even more, in 1986, the last time the Mets won the championship, the lost by one run in game one and six runs in game two, the same margin that’s happened this year.
No matter what happens, true fans will stick with the team, whether Yoenis Cespedes or Daniel Murphy stay or go, and whether the Mets make it back to the World Series in 2016. That’s what true fans do.
