Dillon Gee, who many think got a bit of the short end of the bargain during his time in Flushing, sent well wishes to Mets’ fans on Twitter Friday afternoon.
In six years as a Met, Gee was 40-37 with a 4.03 ERA. The Mets made the mistake of holding on to him too long when they should have traded him last offseason. Now, Gee will continue his career with the Kansas City Royals, who signed him to a one-year deal.
Here’s what Gee had to say to Mets’ fans on Twitter about his time in New York.
Thank you @Mets and met fans for everything you have done for me and my family over the last 5 years. I'll always remember my time there.
