Lucas Duda was haunted all winter by the throw to the plate against the Kansas City Royals in the World Series, as reported by Kristie Ackert of the Daily News.
Duda on Game 5 throw: a throw I make 9 out of 10 times. Learn from it, grow from it. Bothered him all winter. #mets

In Duda’s defense, it was a bang-bang play. Do I think a perfect throw gets him? Yes, but nothing can be assumed. In the heat of the moment, he made an off-line throw, which happens all the time. I don’t blame him for the Mets’ fate in that game or any other in the series.
Plain and simple…the Royals were the better team. Now, with a full year of Yoenis Cespedes, a better bullpen and everyone healthy, hopefully we can follow the Royals’ blueprint of two years ago and win it all this year.
