The Mets have dismissed pitching coach Dave Eiland, according to a report from James Wagner of the New York Times. The Mets’ pitching staff currently ranks 20th in ERA, and they obviously thought it was time for a change.
UPDATE: Joel Sherman of the New York Post adds that bullpen coach Chuck Hernandez has been relieved of his duties as well.
Source says Phil Regan is taking over for Eiland as pitching coach. Ricky Bones is returning as bullpen coach.
