James McCann addressed a big need that’s been a problem for the Mets for a number of years, the catching position. The Mets thought that issue was addressed when they signed the Buffalo Wilson Ramos, but although he had his moments offensively, that marriage went sour when we realized he was much more of a liability defensively than his sporadic offensive bursts were worth.
McCann has always been known as a good defensive catcher, but recently his offense has blossomed as well. MLB Network, in fact, listed him as the 10th best catcher on their list. Check out below as the gentlemen in the studio explain their rationale on the Mets’ new backstop.
