After a disappointing loss in extra innings last night, the Mets and the Giants go at it again for game 2 of their weekend series. Todays game will be on WPIX at 1:10 PM.
Mike Pelfrey (0-0, 3.09 ERA) will face Ryan Vogelsong (0-1, 2.84 ERA) in todays matinee game. One thing to keep an eye out for in todays game is whether or no David Wright can extend his on base streak to 11 games. Wright has reached base safely in every game he has played this season. This will be his 11th game.
Another key to todays game is for Pelfrey to keep his pitch count low and try to pitch efficiently. One of Pelfrey’s major issues is that he usually reaches the 100 pitch threshold around the 5th or 6th inning. Pelfrey needs to try and get to at least the 7th inning, but that seems to be asking a lot out of big Pelf
