Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson made a fan’s wish come true last month when he called her for her 90th birthday.
Not only was Stella alert and witty, she was hitting on Granderson like it was nobody’s business. Granderson, on the other hand, was all about the fun, but he had no voice due to a sore throat of some sort.
“You sound really sexy,” she said. “I wish I was younger. I’d give you a chase for your good looks…not your money.”
The always-classy Granderson congratulated her on the milestone, and she admitted he’s been her favorite since his Yankees’ days, but she’s a converted Mets’ fans.
“Gargle with hot water, will ya?” she asked.
“I’m going to get some tea, and if you could make it for me, I’d love that,” Granderson replied.
Stella was open to the idea, saying she had extra rooms in the house and Granderson is welcomed at any time. No word on if the lovebirds have a date in mind to meet.
