Here’s an excerpt from Martino’s story:
Mets rookie phenom Steven Matz has a sore lat muscle and will be out several weeks sources told the Daily News Thursday. The big left-hander – considered one of the top prospects in all of baseball – has made a big splash as he is already 2-0 with the Mets and has driven in five runs.
I just don’t know what to say about the injuries at this point. I was trying to figure out a way to go Sunday, because his starts were becoming a must-watch. We heard after his last start that he had fought through some soreness, but it wasn’t a concern. Remember, we were told that Zack Wheeler’s injury wasn’t a concern either.
This sucks.
