-The Bisons are one of only five teams in the entire International League with at least 13 wins, unfortunately for them two others are in the same division with league leading Pawtucket and Lehigh Valley. Recently they are winners of their last three straight games and winners of four of their last five. Yesterday they had a walk-off 4-3 victory over Rochester as Vinny Rotino drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
-Lifetime minor leaguer Bobby Scales is still leading the team with a .400 batting average going 28-for-70 at the plate. Val Pascucci is leading in homeruns with six as well as RBI with 16. On the mound Chris Schwinden and Jeremy Hefner who both saw time with the Major League team this past week are leading the team in ERA, as Hefner has a 2.08 and Schwinden a 2.05, out of the pen Fernando Cabrera, Danny Herrera, Chuck James and Jack Egbert have all had solid starts through the first month of the season.
-The B-Mets are hanging in the standings while five of the top six teams are within five games of the top spot in the division, sorry Portland. The team has been alternating wins and loses over their last six times on the field leading to their .500 record. They wrap up their series at Erie today before moving on the Akron to take on the Aeros.
-Jefry Marte is leading the team in hitting with a .367 average, while Matt den Dekker (.286) and Juan Lagares (.250) round out the outfield group. Den Dekker is leading the team in homers with three, while Marte has the lead in RBI with 12 followed closely by Josh Rodriguez with 10. Zack Wheeler on the mound has a 1.80 ERA through four starts, while Mark Cohoon continues to quietly work his way up the Mets system with a 2.25 ERA. Left Darin Gorski has a 2.75 ERA through four starts as well, this team is stacked with pitching while the hitting needs to pick it up.
-This team is amazing just as it was last year with an entirely different group of players, this team is well on their way to a first half division title, let’s just hope they can get the job done at the end of the season in 2012. The team is currently on a three game winning streak while heading into the final two games of their four game set with Fort. Myers.
-Darrell Ceciliani is leading the team with a .346 average, followed by Wilmer Flores with a .311. Cory Vaughn is leading the team with four homers while Flores has the team RBI lead with 17. The pitching has done just as well as Chase Hutchingson leads the team with a 1.23 ERA in four starts followed by Angel Cuan with a 2.78 ERA. Closer by committee is the strategy in the bullpen as four different guys have totaled 10 saves for the St. Lucie Mets.
