It has been three months to the day since I have written on the Daily Stache. As it became evident that there would be no run to the playoffs during this COVID-19-shortened season, I lacked motivation, ideas, drive or time to do this.
That’s not the case anymore.
Steve Cohen is officially the Mets’ owner and there’s not anything Mayor Bill DeBlasio, Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez or anyone else can do about it. He’s now the highest valued owner in baseball at $14 billion, and with free agency starting Sunday, the Mets (who have plenty of holes to fill) have reasons to dream.
Here’s his first act on the job, which is undoing a Wilpon wrong:
