As I sit in the press box at blogger day at Citi Field, the Mets have announced two minor league signings to bolster their depth at Triple-A Buffalo…infielder Brad Emaus and outfielder Fred Lewis.
Emaus, 26, has signed to start 2012 with the Laredo Lemurs of the American Association before joining the Mets. In his 14 games with the Mets in 2011, Emaus struggled, going just 6-for-37 in limited time.
Lewis went to spring training with Cleveland, but he was unable to make the roster.
No problem with the Mets making these signings. With the way the injury bug has got them early in the season, it looks like depth could never be a bad thing.
