FLUSHING, N.Y., June 15, 2017 – The New York Mets today announced that Mets second baseman Neil Walker was examined today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he also underwent an MRI and was diagnosed with a partial tear of his left hamstring. He received a PRP injection and will begin rehab immediately.
He has been placed on the 10-Day Disabled list and will be replaced on the 25-Man Roster by Gavin Cecchini, who has been recalled from Las Vegas (AAA). Walker is expected to miss several weeks.
Mets RHP Matt Harvey was also seen today at HSS. Following an MRI and a CT scan, Harvey was diagnosed with a stress injury to the scapula bone in the right shoulder. Harvey received a PRP injection and will rehab until he is pain free, at which time he will begin a throwing program to return to pitch. He is expected to miss several weeks.”
