Post-Game: Walker Bomb, Thor’s Hammer Lead Mets to Win

on

Neil Walker homered, Noah Syndergaard tossed six scoreless and the bullpen was flawless during the Mets (1-1) first win of the season vs. the defending champion Kansas City Royals 2-0 Tuesday.

First, let’s look at Walker’s bomb, with a very calm call from Gary Cohen.

Here was the biggest pitch Noah Syndergaard threw in the game, a nasty 95 MPH slider to end the Royals’ bases-loaded threat.

Game Ball: Jim Henderson looked dominant in his inning of work. Because of his story and his fight back from injury, I’ll go with him.

Now it’s back home to Queens for the home opener on Friday! Bring on the Phillies!
