The Mets just need one more win or one more Washington loss, and the NL East Division crown will be ours for the first time since 2006.
The Mets came to work tonight, and they meant business. Let’s start with Lucas Duda, who creamed a pair of three run homers and drove in six runs. Curtis Granderson drove in four, which included a three-run homer, and Noah Syndergaard helped his own cause with an RBI single as well. As for the mound, Syndergaard gave up 2 runs on 5 hits with 11 strikeouts in 7 2/3.
Eric O’Flaherty, Bobby Parnell and Tim Stauffer each allowed an earned run before Hansel Robles closed the door on a 12-5 victory.
