On Monday afternoon the Mets announced that pitcher Jose Valverde after giving up four runs in a loss to the Pirates was released and that hitting coach Dave Hudgens was fired.
Mike Puma of the New York Post asked Terry Collins about whether he was worried that the firing of Hudgens could mean that Collins is next.

Vic Black will be called back up to replace Valverde and Mets minor league coach Lamar Johnson will replace Dave Hudgens
The Mets are now 22-28 so far this year and 7-17 in the month of May at this point.
