The past few days, the Jordany Valdespin incident with the Pirates and his Mets teammates has been a big story.
With the team playing poorly and news being slower than slow, this story has taken on a life of it’s own.
This morning, Andy Martino of the NY Daily News wrote a post on their website about the situation involving Valdespin and what happened before and after he was hit by a pitch on Saturday.
To give you an idea of what the post is about, this is what Andy wrote…
Jordany Valdespin tried to wiggle out of pinch-hitting duty on Saturday when he expected the Pittsburgh Pirates to plunk him, according to a person who witnessed the event in the dugout. Then he wore body armor to the plate, and confounded teammates by refusing to address the media after that game.
Even in an interview with Sandy Alderson yesterday, WFAN 660/101.9 FM host Mike Francesa called him a “Half a Jerk.”
So today, Valdespin decided to respond to everything that has been going around him over the past few days
Me critican para bajarme el auto estima pero yo voy directo ala cima. Yo no naci pa perder

I feel bad for the kid that he has to deal with all this. Did he bring it upon himself, yeah you can say that, no question. I still feel bad for him though.
It was our own @MetsKevin11 that noticed that he had put armor on for that AB on Saturday and it made sense based on how he reacted while the ball was traveling towards his ribs.
He tried his best to put the armor in front of the ball so that it would not hurt. It looked awkward at the time it happened but then I realized what he was doing.
This guy in my opinion is a good guy, he might be flashy and cocky, but he still seems like a good kid. I hope this finally blows over sooner rather than later.
Lets just play some baseball please.
