While the Mets and Phillies played over five hours of baseball on Friday night and played a game of baseball that fans would like to forget, unless you are a Phillies fan.
Of course a play that Mets fans and baseball fans in general should never forget is this play from David Wright in the bottom of the fourth inning which at the time kept the Mets only down by one after four innings.
David Wright has for years been one of the best defensive third baseman in the game and has been very good the past few years after some hiccups throwing to first for a bit.
That catch is very reminiscent of a play he made in San Diego in 2005 which you can see here…

Two great plays, nine years apart. Just goes to show that Wright can still make a spectacular play when he needs too.
