This is a shameless plug for our good friend Randy over at ReadTheApple.com, but a much well-deserved one!
Everyone who lives within the tri-state area who follows New York sports is familiar with Yankees commentator Michael Kay, a quintessential Yankee shill who loves to hate on the Mets. Prior to the start of the 2012 season, Kay boldly predicted that the Mets would be a “55-59 game-winning team”. The second part of his genius wisdom was that the Mets would also lose 100 games.
Welp…this past road trip, the Mets had the AUDACITY to bring their winning total to 65 games so far this year. The nerve of some people…
According to Randy, in order to celebrate this accomplishment, the Mets will host “Michael Kay Night” when the Braves come to town this weekend. How thoughtful of the Mets brass to include Chipper Jones in this night of fun and frolics on his last trip through Queens.
You can read all about this exciting promotion, complete with a T-shirt giveaway, modeled by Jon Rauch in the above picture, over at ReadTheApple.com at http://www.readtheapple.com/2012/09/mets-will-host-michael-kay-night-friday.html
Come on, I can’t give away ALL the fun here.
And yeah…we wish it was real too *wink*
