Mets Trivia: Which Five Former Mets Get a World Series Ring?

PLEASE NOTE: The answers must be current active players.

Unless you live under a rock, you know the Houston Astros won game seven last night to clinch their franchise’s first World Series championship. To bet on next year’s World Series winner check out NetBet Online Betting. The Astros have been around since 1962, which happens to be the same year the lovable New York Metropolitans broke onto the scene.

With last night’s win, Carlos Beltran got his first championship after 20 years in the league. Undoubtedly one of the best offensive players in Mets’ history, Beltran was visibly emotional, despite not having a major role for the Astros during the playoffs.

Did you know four other former Mets will receive a win since the Astros won? Obviously Beltran is the first of five. Can you name the other four? There’s no prize for this one, other than self respect. Put your submissions in the comments section below.

UPDATE: The answer has been correctly identified on social media: Carlos Beltran, Nori Aoki, Tyler Clippard, Collin McHugh and Juan Centeno

Technically there are two more — pitching coach Brent Strom is a former Met and hitting coach Dave Hudgens formerly served the Mets in that capacity. I stick to Strom but Hudgens is a judgment call.

I’ll go with this list of former Mets players: Beltran, Tyler Clippard, Colin McHugh, Juan Centeno, and pitching coach Brent Strom who pitched for the Mets in the 70’s.

Also, hitting coach Dave Hudgens formerly held that position with the Mets. And, I wonder if Nolan Ryan, a member of the front office, will get a ring.
