Former Mets’ great Carlos Beltran announced his retirement on Monday, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Beltran: “I have such a passion for baseball, but at some point, it’s time.” https://t.co/d1QdhG4bF8

In his Mets’ career, Beltran hit 149 homers, drove in 559 RBI and batting .280 with a .369 on base percentage. His best year came in 2006, when he had 41 homers and 116 RBI. He also stole an even 100 bases as a Met, and he was only caught 16 times.

If he’s considered for the Hall of Fame, he could go in wearing a Mets’ cap, as he played more games in orange and blue than anywhere else.
Here’s a tribute video from YouTube. Thank you Carlos.
