Former SNY Pre and Postgame analyst Bobby Ojeda, who was recently unable to come to terms with SNY on a new contract, was recently a guest on the Michael Kay Show with Michael Kay and Don La Greca, and he spoke about the upcoming season and what he expects.
“They have a ton of reasons for being optimistic,” Ojeda said. “They got an outstanding pitching staff, and now they have to do it again.”
Ojeda referred to Jeurys Familia as a sleeping giant, saying that only better days are ahead for him. Ojeda was also critical of the Mets and how they look at their returning ace Matt Harvey.
“I don’t like the fact that they like to hang a lot on Harvey,” he said. “He missed a year. I don’t think that’s fair, even though Harvey likes it.”
Ojeda discussed the Mets offense, which he said isn’t that good and lacks a clutch presence. He even referred to it as a problem, along with the defense.
Ojeda also goes on about David Wright and whether or not he can return to form. See below for the video, courtesy of YES.
