Neil Walker is on the verge of becoming a New York Met, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

There’s no word on what’s going back to Pittsburgh, but Jon Niese was rumored to be offered straight up for Walker. Walker will replace Daniel Murphy, who’s currently a free agent. Walker hit .269 with 16 homers and 71 RBI last season.
UPDATE: Buster Olney is reporting it will be for Jon Niese.
