Post Game: Mets 5 Dodgers 0

on

Santana tossed 8 scoreless innings to lower his season ERA to 2.76 on the year.

The Mets beat the Dodgers by a score of 5-0 today, clinching a series victory against the Dodgers.

Johan Santana was dominant tonight to follow up Dickey’s dominating start last night. Santana went 8 scoreless only giving up 3 hits. The key for Santana tonight was he was successfully able to keep his changeup down in the strike zone, and Santana was able to keep his pitch count low in the middle innings. This weak Dodgers’ lineup has stood no chance the past two days, as both Dickey and Santana shut them out.

Overall it is huge for this team having two ace type pitchers. Everytime Santana or Dickey take the mound I feel that the Mets have a strong chance to win the game.

The Mets scored on two sacrifice flies early on and then Ike Davis hit a three run homer in the 6th inning. This homer sunk the Dodgers and the Mets cruised to an easy 5-0 win.

Tomorrow the Mets will look to sweep the Dodgers on the road with Dillon Gee taking on Clayton Kershaw. The game is on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and the start time is approximately 8:15pm on ESPN.

Game Ball: Johan Santana for his 8 inning start

Turning Point of The Game: Ike’s 3 run jack- put the game out of reach for LA.
