The return of Matt Harvey could not have gone any better today, as he was Dark Knight-esque in a 6-3 Mets win. In six innings, he allowed no runs on four hits, while walking one and striking out nine.
The Mets’ bats woke up as well, as they got two RBI from David Wright and Travis d’Arnaud, with Michael Cuddyer and Daniel Murphy adding one apiece as well.
After Alex Torres walked two of the three batters he faced, Buddy Carlyle game up a two-run double to Ian Desmond. Carlos Torres followed Carlyle and pitched a 1-2-3 eighth, and Jeurys Familia closed things out in the ninth even though he allowed a run himself.
