This afternoon (weather permitting) the Mets take on the Giants in game 3 of their 4 game set. Mike Pelfrey threw a real nice game yesterday, but was a victim of Frank Francisco and shoddy defense. Pelf’s 8 innings of 1 run ball, did not figure into the decision after Frankie Folding Chair couldn’t find the strike zone and then Ruben Tejada and Cpt. Kirk misplayed a flyball into short center. Luckily for the Mets, Buster Posey still had thoughts of his broken ankle in the back of his head, and he threw the back half of a double play, into left field. This allowed the Mets to score the winning run.

Pitching Matchup
Dillon Gee (1-1 2.92 ERA) will be on the mound for the Mets. In Gee’s last start against the Braves he allowed just one earned run on four hits and a walk over seven solid frames. He really pushed through a shaky 7th inning to keep the Mets ahead.
Tim Lincecum (0-2 10.54 ERA) has been a total disaster so far this season. In his 3 starts so far this season, he has not gone beyond 6 innings in any of them, and has allowed 22 hits in only 13.2 innings pitched. Look for the 2nd perfect game in 2 days to be pitched today if the rain holds off….
