Sherman: Mets Scouting Justin Verlander

In a bit of interesting news, the Mets sent two scouts to watch Justin Verlander throw, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Verlander only pitched in one game last year, but he was on top of his game in 2019. Verlander was 21-6 with a 2.58 ERA while striking out 300 batters.

I’m sure the Mets weren’t alone at this showcase, but it’s not surprising they’re keeping their options open with the statuses of Noah Syndergaard and Marcus Stroman uncertain.
