WOR 710 to Re-Air Mets Historic 1986 World Series Game Six Victory Thursday

WOR 710, the radio home of the Mets, will re-air the historic Game Six of the 1986 World Series against the Boston Red Sox, when the Mets staged the signature comeback in their history. It will air Thursday at 7 p.m.

You’ll get to here Bob Murphy and Gary Thorne on the call. Preceding the game, there will be a 1-hour pre show with interviews of Ray Knight, Mookie Wilson, Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez, and Gary Thorne.

“We all know how the game turned out, and we’ve all heard Bob Murphy’s epic call countless times; but to get the full flavor of one of the greatest moments in Mets history you really need to listen from start to finish,” said Howie Rose. “Allow yourself to escape to a moment in time when every pitch and every play would define the Mets season, providing proper context to a comeback that somehow seems even harder to believe today than it did thirty years ago,” Rose added.
