Matt Harvey Throws to Live Batters for First Time Since Surgery

on

Unless you’ve been in another Country for the past six months, you know that Matt Harvey’s return is a major storyline entering the 2015 season.

In what some might see as minor news, I see as a nice development. Today, the 27th day of February, Matt Harvey faced live batters for the first time since undergoing Tommy John Surgery, which forced him to miss the entire 2014 season

Here’s the video, courtesy of the New York Mets Twitter account.

It’s rare that you can find a guy with Harvey’s confidence and moxy who’s played for the Mets. Some people think he goes a bit overboard when it comes to off-the-field stuff, but it’s obvious he craves the attention.

I have no problem with it. I think it’s a breath of fresh air to have a guy who exudes positivity and confidence in the locker room. It’s one thing if you just talk the talk, but if Matt Harvey is the pitcher we’ve seen dominate before, he’ll certainly be walking the walk.

ESPN is working on an E:60: The Dark Knight Rises about Harvey’s recovery, and the episode is set to debut sometime this spring. I watched the preview last night, and it made me so pumped, I couldn’t help but share. Baseball is getting closer and closer, and this could be a special season for the Orange and Blue.
